For the last three years, Paul has taught fiddle through Irish at Gael Acadamh an Spidéil. He currently teaches fiddle in Gaelscoileanna in Counties Wicklow and Kildare and employs staff notation, A,B,C and recorded material in his teaching methods.
Paul has tutored fiddle at all levels at Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy each year for the last twenty years and features annually at the School’s fiddle recital.
A working musician since his teens, his solo fiddle album ‘Atlantic Roar’ received a five star review in the Irish Times (1998).
Founder member, musical arranger and business manager of the group ‘Dorsa’, the band made television appearances, (BBC, RTE) and appeared at Expo 2000. Dorsa completed several tours in USA and Europe, including major festivals. Their album ‘The Wild Music of the Gael’ was played widely and received excellent reviews.
In 2007, Paul represented Irish fiddle playing at ‘Fiddle Tunes’ Port Townsend WA, USA, giving masterclasses and playing on the festival mainstage.
Paul is a composer and arranger of Traditional Irish Music and a member of Wicklow based group ‘Mountain House’ with master-piper Joe McKenna, singer Ger Fitzgerald and Breton guitarist Yvon Riou. They performed a concert series in Brittany in July 2015 and are currently working on their first album.
Paul plays fiddle, whistle, pipes, flute and mandolin.
