Alison Behan is a native of Kill Village, now living in Athgarvan, Co. Kildare. She graduated with a BMus from the C.I.T. Cork School of Music in 2011, training as a soprano with Mary Pedder-Daly, studying piano with Brian MacNamara, conducting with Alan Cutts and class teaching with Bebhinn Ni Mheara. During her time in Cork, Alison was a member of the CSM Jazz and Opera Ensembles, the Fleischmann Choir under Dr. Geoffrey Spratt and Capella Lyrica under John O’Connor and Maria Judge.
Since graduating Alison has been working as a free-lance musician, teacher and conductor. She has worked in primary schools teaching Kindermusic and Choral workshops, K.I.S.E.Y.M. Herbert Lodge teaching Kindermusic and Singing as part of the Scoil Mhuire Clane Adult Education Programme. She has been Conductor of Rockmount Ladies Choir in Foxrock, Co. Dublin since 2013 and Kildare Town Community School Choir since 2012. Alison was Musical Director for the school’s productions of All Shook Up (2013) and Oliver!(2014). She also works at the Riverbank Arts Centre, Newbridge as a member of the Front of House Team.
Alison is a member of Kill Musical Society and as a performer her musical roles include ‘Tuptim’ in The King & I, ‘Fantine’ in Les Miserables, ‘Alison’ in Godspell, ‘Charlotte’ in Oliver! and ‘Pitti-Sing’ in Hot Mikado.
