Aine Donohoe is a native of Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan and graduated from DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama with a BMus degree where she specialised in Pedagogy. During her time in the Conservatory she was a member of the DIT Traditional Music Ensemble where she performed in a number of stages including National Concert Hall, Templebar Trad Fest and DIT Gleeson Hall.
Radio appearances include Raidio na Gaeltachta, Shannonside-Northern Sound and KCLR fm.
She started her musical journey learning Tin Whistle in Primary School from the late Cormac McGill and progressed to playing piano on her sixth birthday under the tutelage of Deirdre McCartin in Newtowngore, Co. Leitrim where she completed local pianoforte examinations under the RIAM examinations board.
Passionate about all things Irish, Aine also took up the Button Accordion and Banjo in her childhood attending lessons with Damaris Woods. She describes going to her trad lessons as some of the fondest memories of her childhood.
Aine is a regular pianist in hotels such as the Slieve Russell Hotel, Co. Cavan and the Lough Erne Golf Resort, Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh.
She is also a member of the organisational team along with being a teacher for Ag Seinm Traditional Arts Group – an organisation centred on providing enjoyment through music, song and dance. She has travelled the USA with fellow Ag Seinm teachers in her traditional/folk group Álainn.
Aine considers herself an extremely passionate music teacher and takes great pride in all of her students achievements.
She says describes working with Music Generation Carlow as a “dream come true!”
